The National Palace of Culture (NDK), located at 1 Bulgaria Square, 1463 Sofia, is the largest multifunctional cultural and congress center in Bulgaria and one of the most recognizable buildings in the capital. Situated in the southern part of Sofia's center, the NDK is an important symbol of the modern urban landscape and a hub for cultural, public, and international events. The complex opened in 1981 and impresses with its grand architecture, modern spaces, and diverse halls hosting concerts, theater performances, exhibitions, conferences, and festivals. Among its most famous spaces is Hall 1 – one of the largest concert halls in the country. Bulgaria Square is located in front of the building, with the South Park and the beginning of the Vitosha pedestrian boulevard situated nearby. The area around the NDK is a preferred spot for strolls, meetings, and cultural experiences for both Sofia residents and city visitors. Thanks to its central location and excellent access by metro and public transport, the National Palace of Culture remains one of Sofia's main cultural attractions and an important venue for the development of the Bulgarian scene.
